I attended Clemson University where I earned my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Elementary.  My graduate work was done at the University of West Georgia in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, and Reading.

I began teaching at Roopville Elementary in 1990.  I have worked in Floyd and Carroll Counties as both a classroom teacher and administrator.  For the past 7 years, I was with UWG in a variety of roles both with the College of Education and in Continuing Education.  My very favorite grade to teach is third grade, so I was thrilled to join Central Elementary last December as a third grade teacher.

I was born in Dayton, Ohio but I have grown up in Carrollton.  I am a fourth generation educator- both of my parents, three of my grandparents and a great-grandfather have all been educators.  Most of my first cousins have teaching certificates, as well.  I have two beautiful daughters, both teens, who love to come spend time with me in the classroom when they have a chance.  We attend Carrollton First United Methodist Church.
