Contacting the Counselor
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. I started my career teaching English as a Second Language to adults and transitioned to teaching high school students who either dropped out of school or were at risk of dropping out of school. I began my counseling career in California working with children, high risk teens, families and couples. In 1994 my family and I moved to Carrollton where I worked in mental health. In 2001 I returned to the field of education as a school counselor. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor and continue to see clients in my private practice after the school day. My hobbies include spending time with my family, reading, baking and biking.

Bio
My family and I moved from California to Carrollton, Georgia in 1994.
I became a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Georgia in 1995. I married in 1977. My husband and I are the proud parents of a son and daughter. Our family has grown to include a daughter-in-law with two grandchildren and a son-in-law with two grandsons. We are very proud of them. I am active in my church working in the children’s department. My husband and I host a Bible study in our home.
I have worked in education since 1977. I have taught English as a Second Language, literacy, basic math as well as graduation high school subjects.
I have been in the field of counseling since 1985. I have worked in both the public and private sector. I began working as a school counselor in 1986. As a school counselor I have worked with adults returning to school to graduate, at-risk high school students, and elementary-aged students. Currently I work with pre-k through second grade students.
