About Me

Upon graduating from UWG  with a degree in Fine Arts,  I began my teaching career in private education. I taught kindergarten through twelfth grade in a private school for ten years. After taking a few years off to home-school my children, I returned to work in radio and then to UWG’s Publications and Printing Department. During my time in a higher education setting, I began taking teaching certification courses while working full-time. I completed the teaching certification for art in 2020. I will begin a higher degree program in the fall of 2022. In my spare time, I enjoy creating art, traveling, reading, and singing. I have two wonderful young adult children who hold degrees of their own in business (MIS) and theatre. I teach with the best group of educators and admire the most wonderful team of administrators at CES.  I also enjoy all of the enthusiastic students that I teach art to from kindergarten through fifth grade. They ask many amazing questions about the countries and continents that we are covering. We learn about the type of art, food, music, language, people, and culture from each region in the world. I get excited when they can find the places we cover on the classroom world map. What I love the most is when I hear parents tell me their child came home talking all about………, and they want to visit there.
